I've grown up in a Christian home, so I've always heard about God's love. But I believe that every person needs to come to a place where his faith is his own. For me, it started one night about three years ago. We were singing a song titled, "Sweetly Broken" by Jeremy Riddle at youth group, and suddenly I realized how amazing God's grace is towards me. That was a turning point in my life. I began to feel God's presence more and develop a personal relationship with Him.
More recently, I was hit with new thoughts about brokenness in our lives. This past summer I had the unique opportunity to travel to Colorado for a debate tournament, volunteer work, and a worldview camp. Then last month I got to serve on a mission team for five days. Through those experiences, I met many people (especially on the mission trip) who were broken because of family strife, personal loss, past mistakes, etc. Consequently I realized that we are all broken, but these beautiful people were actually courageous enough to face it and work through it.
I have not gone through what those people have experienced, but I've seen that hardship in our lives brings us to our knees and makes us remember that we need God. Ultimately I think God is showing me that He can take the broken pieces of our lives and create a glorious mosaic that is beyond our imagination.
So that's the story behind the name...
