Waiting for the time when I'll know what major I want to pursue.
Waiting for the day when I'll meet a guy and we'll know we were made for each other.
Waiting to get something, know something, or do something that will supposedly change my life forever.
But in all this waiting, I miss out on living fully right now. I'm staring at the green light down the street and mindlessly running the red light right in front of me.
What if I chose to wait on God?
According to Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, "waiting on Me (Jesus) means directing your attention to Me in hopeful anticipation of what I will do."
When my eyes are toward my Creator and King, I can open my eyes to see what He's doing now and open my hands to receive His gifts that are coming. The truth is, waiting for all those other things cheats me of the beauty this moment can offer. And they all leave me empty. Those things that I anticipate are only beautiful and glorious when I let them fulfill their God-given purpose - to bring me ever closer to Christ.
So what am I waiting for?
